CSK vs GT, IPL 2023 Final highlights: Ravindra Jadeja hit a last-ball four as Chennai Super Kings equaled Mumbai Indians’ record for most IPL titles. Sai Sudharsan had taken Gujarat Titans to 214-4 by hitting 96 off just 47 balls. The 23-year-old Chennai lad struck eight fours and six sixes in his innings and made the most of the death overs. Earlier, Wriddhiman Saha hit 54 on a day when his prolific opening partner Shubman Gill could only manage 39 (20). Throughout play at GT, there was only a light drizzle, which didn’t cause any interruptions. However, the interruption came after the third ball of the first over of the CSK innings, when heavy rain poured down on the stadium. While the rain itself didn’t last long, it was the wet outfield, particularly a problematic practice pitch on the edge of the pitch, that caused the most delay. Eventually, play was shortened to 15 overs and the target was revised from CSK to 171. Play eventually resumed and it has been a rollercoaster ever since. Big hits from Devon Conway, Ajinkya Rahane, Shivam Dube and Ambati Rayudu helped CSK, but Mohit Sharma provided the all-important wickets whenever it looked like the opposition would walk away with the win. Mohit Sharma also threw the last over and took it to CSK, where they needed 10 to win with the last two balls. But Ravindra Jadeja hit the penultimate ball for a six and the last ball for a four to lead CSK to a five-wicket win and their fifth title.
